Due to continued expansion and an increasing project pipeline, we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team.
Role Summary
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the commercial management of residential construction projects, ensuring effective cost control, value for money, and contractual compliance from project commencement through to final account.
This role suits a commercially aware professional who enjoys working closely with site teams and contributing to the successful delivery of housing projects nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
* Commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account
* Cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
* Preparation and review of tender documentation, BOQs, and cost plans
* Procurement and appointment of subcontractors and suppliers
* Measurement and valuation of works on site
* Preparation of interim valuations and payment applications
* Management of subcontractor accounts, variations, and final accounts
* Monthly cost value reconciliation (CVR) reporting
* Management of change control and variation processes
* Liaison with site management, project managers, consultants, and clients
* Ensuring compliance with contract conditions, public sector procurement requirements, and company procedures
Candidate Requirements
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role
* Experience in residential construction (social housing experience advantageous)
* Good knowledge of construction contracts and cost control procedures
* Strong organisational, communication, and negotiation skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting tools
