Repairs & Maintenance Worker 1 PurposeThe job of Repairs & Maintenance Worker exists for the purpose of providing maintenance services as needed and/or assigned. Assisting in a wide variety of maintenance activities; addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns; assisting skilled trades; and ensuring that tools, materials and vehicles are maintained in good working order and are available at job site when needed.This includes a mix of skilled and minor maintenance duties to ensure the property assets are maintained, ensuring a comfortable, properly functioning and aesthetically pleasing community for all our community members.It is most important that the candidate has the ability to deliver a high level of service in a confident and professional manner.
Equally important is that this person can work well alongside a wider team.The candidate will be required to complete both internal and external repairs and maintenance work.
Tasks include but not limited to the following: plumbing work, painting, flooring repair, gardening, window cleaning and upkeep, heating and air conditioning system maintenance. Notifying and maintaining a good repose with management in the general maintenance of all mechanical and electrical devices.
Timely services and organizing for appropriate contractor.2 Duties & Responsibilities The principal duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Planned preventative maintenance and inspections. Liaising with external contractors for scheduled works as required. Regular walks of development for upkeep internally and externally. Garden and grounds maintenance services-Grass/Hedge Cutting. General property repairs and maintenance as requested by Regional Repairs & Maintenance Coordinator Contribute with CCOI Community Staff (PIC, Team Lead, Admin etc) to a team effort to ensure best results/resolution for all issues arising. Re Arranges furniture and equipment for the purpose of providing adequate preparations for special events, festivals, plays etc Assists skilled maintenance workers with projects (e.g.
transporting and/or securing materials, completing specific tasks, etc.)
for the purpose of completing projects in a safe, efficient manner. Cleans buildings and grounds areas as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of providing an effective working/learning environment, preventing damage and/or limiting liability exposure. Coordinates with skilled tradesmen and/or assigned supervisor(s) for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently. Inspect system component parts, workshops and office equipment and facility components (e.g.
lighting, heating and ventilating systems, alarms, plumbing, security, electrical panels, etc.)
and report any faults to the Regional Maintenance & Repairs Coordinator/Specialist Contractors. Maintains tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition. Participates in meetings, workshops and trainings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions. Performs a wide variety of general and semiskilled maintenance activities (e.g.
carpentry, painting, cleaning/unblocking drainage, floor/wall repairs etc) for the purpose of completing projects within established time frames. Repairs furniture and building system components for the purpose of ensuring a safe working condition. Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns. Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site. Undertake Training/Upskilling to ensure Health & Safety Compliance with all activities. Work in accordance CCOI Health & Safety Policies Keep Maintenance Logs & Reports on Daily Activities Any other duties as requested by Regional Repairs & Maintenance Coordinator or designate. Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Applicants must have:A Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualificationA minimum of two years relevant experience in a similar roleDemonstrable knowledge of maintenance serviceCompetent at basic building repairs and maintenance and ground maintenance and planning and managing projectsCompetent in operating equipment used in skilled trades, power and hand tools etc and adhering to safety practicesExperience of maintaining grounds/landscapingMust be a solid team player with ability to work on own initiativeGood interpersonal skills with courteous and professional mannerWorking knowledge of Health and Safety PracticesProficient IT skills relevant to the role to include Microsoft Teams and use of internal maintenance software for work ordersA full drivers license and availability of own car Details of the Role: Salary Scale: €30,763- € 37,007 per annum, based on a 40 hour week Locations: Jerpoint and Callan, Co KilkennyDuration: Full time 40 hours per week - PermanentClosing date: Friday 11th July 2025 Candidates shortlisted will be contacted for immediate interviews Please note all posts are subject to Garda Vetting relevant Police check for any country of residence of over 6 months from age of 18 and reference checking Camphill is an equal opportunities employer
