We are looking for a creative software engineer with excellent design and coding skills. You have worked on an agile team and will enjoy working within the latest CI frameworks to create tested software products. You will get training on latest industry practices, further develop your skills, and gain exposure to cloud technologies.
Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)
Work collaboratively on a cross functional team to build cloud ready enterprise product
Design and work on front-end web UIs with a strong UX focus
Design, develop and test back end applications (Java) and REST APIs
Coach and mentor other team members
Identify and drive improvements and innovations
Champion best practice to deliver secure, scalable and reliable services and interfaces
Education and/or Experience
5+ years of Java programming experience
Experience in developing, debugging and troubleshooting web applications
A relevant third level qualification or equivalent commercial experience in software engineering
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent technical problem-solving capabilities
Dedication to learning and sharing new technologies and skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Good knowledge of other Agile frameworks (SAF(e))
Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
Understanding of Continuous Integration and release cycle patterns
Technical Skills
Java, JEE, REST, SOAP, JSP, ORM
Application servers - experience with one or more of JBoss, Tomcat
Databases: Oracle, MS SQL Server
Well versed with CI toolkit such as GIT, Gradle, Jenkins
SQL and data model design for RDBMS such as Oracle and SQL Server
Advantage:
React JS and other front end technologies such as Javascript, AJAX, CSS, HTML5, Typescript
JS test frameworks – Jest, Cypress, Jasmine
Multi-platform skills (Linux/Unix/Windows, Docker containerization, IaC)
Cloud technologies, in particular serverless - AWS
Language Skills
Ability to speak the English language proficiently, both verbally and in writing.
Travel Requirements
This position may require ad-hoc occasional travel.
