Role: Mechanical Technician / Fitter
Description/Definition
Mechanical Technicians / Fitter are required to undertake all types of mechanical installations including pipe work and site fabrication across water and waste water treatment plants, commercial, industrial and domestic type installations.
A strong ability to interpret technical documents and manuals.
Responsibilities/Key Duties
To perform skilled preventative maintenance, tests and repairs in a variety of areas
Design minor mechanical and plumbing installations
Carry out all mechanical and plumbing installations
Calculating material quantities and lists
Finding and solving (troubleshooting) of mechanical and/or plumbing issues
Reporting to Senior Mechanical Technician
To act as a mentor for an apprentice
Mechanical fit out of water and waste water treatments plants
Domestic plumbing installations
Report findings and recommendations to supervisor
Maintaining records of all work undertaken
To complete relevant safety documentation
About You
Requirements
Relevant qualification – FETAC/City & Guilds or equivalent experience
Experience in the water and waste water industry would be an advantage
Ability to read CAD and PNID drawings
Must be flexible in working hours
To be able to work on own initiative and to work as part of a team
Ability to work in confined spaces and to work at height
Full driving licence
Experience of welding of steel and plastic would be an advantage
