You re a driven, technically strong Electrical Engineer with a passion for renewable energy and a proven track record in HV/MV substation delivery and project management.
You ll bring: A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related discipline (Level 8 minimum) ***** years experience in HV/MV infrastructure and at least 5 years in project or design management A strong background in substation projects, ideally supporting wind, solar, or battery storage The ability to manage designers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams effectively In-depth knowledge of grid codes, connection agreements, and protection schemes A flexible, organised approach and willingness to travel nationally to oversee projects What will your role look like?
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you ll play a key role in both the technical design and project management of HV/MV substation and grid connection projects ensuring every stage runs smoothly from concept to completion.
Your day-to-day will include: Leading the design, planning, and delivery of HV/MV substation and grid connection projects (up to 38kV) Developing and managing project plans, budgets, and schedules Ensuring compliance with all technical, contractual, and safety requirements Coordinating with designers, suppliers, and contractors to achieve engineering excellence Liaising with renewable developers, ESB, and key stakeholders to secure approvals and grid connections Providing technical leadership on switchgear, transformers, and protection systems Managing project risks, procurement, and reporting Championing innovation, digital tools, and sustainability across all projects What s next?
