AAG provides aviation solutions including Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance, MAA Part 145 Defence Services, and the EASA Part 147 Atlantic Aviation Training Academy, delivering aviation training to airlines, MROs and companies worldwide.
AAG has an opportunity for a motivated and career-focused Production Training Mentor to support the 145 training requirements. The role involves mentoring to develop and provide training aligned with AAG requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Mentor, support & coach trainees and apprentices
* Ensure trainees and apprentices follow Aircraft Manual procedures and AAG procedures (MOE/EPM)
* Create and maintain a Zonal roster for all trainees and apprentices
* Monitor implementation of the Zonal roster through rotation of the trainees and apprentices
* Work closely with the zonal leader to ensure exposure to relevant tasks
* Carry out regular performance reviews against Knowledge, Skills and Attitude
* Monitor progress in completing training documentation (OJT, Experience and Assessment log books) in a timely fashion
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements
* Provide regular updates to the training manager on progress of experience, OJT and assessment log books
* Mentor New Employees/Contractors on standard procedures within production
* Prepare/deliver mentoring/training with current technical information in line with in-house procedures and aircraft manuals
* Carry out Practical assessments/OJT and examinations as required
* Provide the training administrator with attendance sheets/documentation to support training delivered
* Ensure mentoring is efficient, effective and of a high standard to maximise learning
* Provide one-to-one training as needed
* Continuously seek improvements to the mentoring process
* Work as directed by your manager for smooth mentoring operations
* Occasionally provide mentoring to production staff on new and existing tasks/skills
Essential skills and qualifications
* Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the production environment
* Hold a recognised apprenticeship or traineeship in aircraft maintenance
* Relevant experience in aircraft maintenance
* Experience in training/coaching maintenance personnel would be an advantage
* Hold a recognised train-the-trainer course or instructor qualification would be an advantage
* Excellent verbal and written communication, good teamwork and interpersonal and organisational skills
* Ability to develop and deliver engaging mentoring/training
* Ability to motivate and inspire learners
* Flexibility to work a variable schedule when required
* Good computer skills
* Committed to personal development
* Detail oriented with a positive attitude and strong work energy
* Commitment to company values and ethics
* Willingness to attend a Mentor/Train the Trainer course if required
