Deputy Micheál Carrigy TD is seeking a capable, motivated Parliamentary Assistant to support legislative, communications, and constituency operations. The successful candidate will work across two offices between Longford and Dublin.This role offers the opportunity to work directly in national and local politics, contributing to policy, casework, constituency representation, and public engagement.Key Responsibilities• Assist with drafting of Dáil questions, motions, amendments, and briefs.• Conduct research and policy analysis across local, national, and sectoral issues.• Manage and respond to constituency casework: liaising with government bodies, tracking files, preparing correspondence.• Support media and communications: press releases, social media, newsletters, website updates.• Maintain diary and schedule for the Deputy.• Attend meetings, events, public engagements locally and in Dublin (as required).• Staffing support: intern oversight, volunteer coordination, if applicable.• Occasional coverage in either office (Longford or Dublin) depending on demands.Essential Requirements• Demonstrable interest in politics, public policy or public service.• High standard of written and verbal communication skills• Strong research, analytical, organisational, and prioritisation skills.• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, email, social media platforms, content management systems.• Flexibility: occasional evening or weekend work may be required.Desirable• Experience working in a political, public service, parliamentary or constituency environment.• Knowledge of Oireachtas procedures, legislation, and committee workflows.• Media / press relations experience.• Network in local government, civic organisations, or political parties.How to apply: Send your CV and a short cover letter to with the subject line: Parliamentary Assistant Application – Micheál Carrigy TDFor further information or question please contact or email Closing date:27thOctober 2025
