About the Role
The Woodland Trust is seeking a Site Manager to manage its sites in Northern Ireland to high professional standards, in accordance with our conservation principles, management approach, policies and contracts.
This key role represents the Woodland Trust locally, overseeing a diverse portfolio of sites within Northern Ireland, ensuring the safety of visitors, contractors and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Building collaborative relationships with internal teams, external organisations, contractors, neighbours and interested parties.
* Managing groups of dedicated and passionate volunteers.
* Leading woodland management, ancient woodland restoration and people engagement projects.
* Engaging stakeholders and advocating for our work and values.
* Carrying out Woodland Condition/PAWS Assessments and monitoring, informing long term management plans.
About You
You have an enthusiasm for the environment and share our core values: Grow Together, Explore, Focus and Make it Count.
We are looking for someone with experience working in Forestry, conservation or land management, managing woodlands and sites of high conservation importance, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
Desirable skills include:
* General knowledge and experience of managing risk and Health & Safety requirements.
* Experience leading complex projects, managing contracts and contractors.
* Familiarity with forestry Stewardship Council certification, woodland ecology and legislative context.
* Commercially aware and able to build effective partnerships internally and externally.
Requirements
The successful candidate will require a full driving licence and be comfortable travelling across Northern Ireland.
