Hartley People are seeking an experienced Production Manager to join their client company.
As a Production Manager you will oversee the daily operations of the production line, managing resources and personnel to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products.
The Job Provide leadership in optimising plant processes and equipment on an ongoing basis to ensure maximum output across shifts.
Ensure plant teams work in line with KPIs and that continuous improvement and clean-as-you-go programs are fully implemented.
Oversee People Plans for all Night Operations, ensuring schedules are met and overtime is minimised through cross-training and planning.
Approve weekly labour figures in line with company procedures.
Manage absenteeism and performance in line with company policies and procedures.
Contribute to improving plant efficiencies and reducing process variation through training, online actions, and SOP development.
Identify ongoing training needs for new and existing staff in plant operation, problem-solving, and changeovers, and communicate these to the Operations Manager to access training resources.
Support the business in producing high-quality products by understanding customer needs.
Use lean methodologies to assess plant performance and identify improvement opportunities.
Drive the implementation of improvement projects, facilitating and monitoring initiatives.
Strive to reduce costs and improve efficiencies by gaining a detailed knowledge of the process and continuously eliminating waste.
Collaborate with managers of other departments to ensure customer and business requirements are met consistently.
Ensure all employees in operations have the necessary skills and flexibility for their roles.
Maintain housekeeping standards and safe systems of work in line with Health & Safety regulations and company policy.
The Person A minimum of 3 years of hands-on supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proven leadership abilities with a track record of managing teams effectively.
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing training and openness to future upskilling.
Experience in applying and implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and projects.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate teams.
