The role:
We seek a highly organised and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join our team at Staycity Group. The successful candidate will own payroll processing for the Group, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
The success candidate will be responsible for owning in‑house payroll for Ireland and the UK using Megapay whilst also managing relationships with our outsourced payroll providers across Continental Europe. The successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for outsourced payroll providers, owning the end‑to‑end process, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely deliver across all jurisdictions.
You will collaborate closely with the finance departments and stakeholders across the group, handle employee inquiries, and implement best practices to optimise payroll efficiency. This role is ideal for a proactive individual with a strong background in payroll management and a keen eye for detail, who thrives in a fast‑paced environment.

We would love you to have:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a payroll manager, preferably managing payroll across multiple European jurisdictions.
IPASS certified or holding another payroll or finance qualification.
Hands on experience with Megapay (or similar payroll platforms).
Knowledge of European payroll compliance, including filings and compliance with experience in managing outsourced payroll providers.
Basic accounting knowledge, including payroll accruals, close processes, and reconciliations.
Experience with systems and tools like Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, Bob, and Deputy, and proficiency in Excel.
Strong execution and organisational skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

What you can do for us:

Own and run end to end in house payroll for Ireland and the UK through Megapay, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full regulatory compliance.
Serve as the primary relationship owner with outsourced payroll providers in Germany, France, Portugal, Austria and the Netherlands.
Ensure compliance with all country specific legislation, tax obligations, filing deadlines and reporting requirements across all countries.
Own payroll accounting including preparation of accruals, reconciliations and participation in the month end close process in collaboration with the finance team.
Transform existing processes to establish best-in-class, scalable payroll operations, which meet jurisdictional compliance requirements, deliver outstanding employee support, and support consistent & accurate execution of payroll
Proactively identify and act on improvement opportunities utilizing best practices, while implementing and leveraging technology to improve operations
Monitor, control and respond to all employee payroll queries to ensure a timely resolution for each
Provide monthly reporting on variance to budgets/ prior periods and participate in the annual budget process
