Purpose of the Post
* Be responsible for the establishment and provision of a high-quality Occupational Therapy Service to Stroke survivors as part of an Early Supported Discharge framework and in accordance with standards of professional practice.
* To work with the Occupational Therapist Manager and other members of the Occupational Therapy team, and in conjunction with other ESD for stroke team members, to co-ordinate and develop the service to meet the needs of the population it serves in line with the objectives of the organisation and the National Clinical Programme for Stroke.
Eligibility Criteria
* Statutory Registration: Be registered or be eligible for registration on the Occupational Therapists Register.
* Clinical Experience: Have three years full-time (or an aggregate of three years) post qualification clinical experience.
* Knowledge and Ability: Have the requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
* Proof of Registration: Provide proof of statutory registration before employment can be issued.
* Annual Registration: Maintain annual registration on the Occupational Therapists Register and confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE via the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
* Health: Candidates must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such that a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service exists.
* Character: Candidates must be of good character.
