The role reports to the Senior Manager, Europe Statutory Reporting and manages the audit process for multiple entities within the Global Statutory & Sustainability Reporting Center of Excellence (CoE).
The key responsibilities include ensuring timely and accurate audit deliverables, liaising with external auditors, and managing audit timelines to comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
The role requires staying current with statutory reporting rules, working with internal teams on various GAAP requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
It also involves contributing to the evolution of statutory reporting within the CoE by standardizing processes and leveraging current technologies, while partnering with finance and corporate teams to support audits.
Key Responsibilities, Scope, & Impact
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Europe Statutory Reporting in the Statutory Center of Excellence and managing the audit process for multiple entities in that region, including alignment of appropriate audit timelines.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of audit deliverables and liaise with external auditors to resolve audit issues and queries.
Monitor and manage audit timelines to ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including timely escalations as needed.
Keep abreast of the latest statutory reporting rules and requirements applicable to the legal entities under remit.
Work with pension actuaries and internal teams to ensure the US GAAP defined benefit pension accounting process and entries are appropriate and accurate.
Support Senior Managers across other regions within the Statutory Reporting CoE on global activities, including defined benefit pension accounting and local GAAP impairment process changes.
Collaborate and communicate with multiple cross-functional stakeholders from various levels of the organization.
Play a key role in the evolution of the statutory reporting centre of excellence to standardize data gathering, preparation and audit execution processes and leverage modern technology and controls.
Partner effectively with other Finance Hub teams, Corporate Development, Corporate Tax, Accounting Research and audit service providers to support the audit process.
Experience
5+ years of experience in Finance including preparing financial statements, external audit experience, and involvement in financial and/or management accounting areas requiring influencing, communicating effectively, and collaborating with team leaders and stakeholders.
ACCA, CIMA, ACA, with MBA or IFRS postgrad qualifications preferred.
Working knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS/Local GAAP as the basis for statutory reporting.
General knowledge of regulatory environments.
Understanding of financial and/or information tools and systems.
Experience in significant change projects and initiatives is desirable.
Experience in a multinational company with a global footprint.
Operational excellence mindset with strong business acumen, financial competency, audit discipline, and collaborative skills.
