A leading public affairs consultancy based in Dublin is seeking a
Public Affairs Account Director
to join its senior leadership team.
This role is suited to a highly experienced public affairs professional with deep knowledge of Irish political and policy landscapes, and a strong track record of advising senior stakeholders.

, whether through existing relationships, a current portfolio, or strong prospects that can transition into the consultancy.

Key Responsibilities
Provide senior strategic counsel on political, policy, and regulatory matters to high-profile clients.
Design and deliver integrated public affairs strategies, including stakeholder engagement, legislative monitoring, and political communications.
Build and maintain strong relationships across government, political parties, regulators, and industry bodies.
Manage a portfolio of significant accounts, acting as a trusted adviser to senior executives and policy leaders.
Bring established client relationships or secure new clients early in tenure
, supporting business expansion.
Identify and lead new business opportunities, including pitches and proactive engagement with prospective clients.
Oversee and mentor a senior consultancy team, ensuring excellence in output and strategic alignment.
Provide expert oversight of issues management, policy developments, and regulatory change.
Contribute to long-term commercial planning and strategic development within the consultancy.
Experience & Skills
Typically
10+ years' experience
in public affairs, political advisory, government affairs, or related strategic roles.
Deep understanding of Irish political processes, policy development, and the regulatory environment.
Proven ability to provide high-level counsel to senior leaders and boards.
Demonstrated business development capability, including the ability to bring or attract client accounts.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with expertise in policy-focused messaging.
Experience overseeing teams, budgets, and multi-layered programmes.
Excellent judgement, confidentiality, and ability to operate confidently in complex or sensitive situations.
Commercial, collaborative, and highly relationship-driven.
