Job Description
Vital Home Care is a nurse-led home care provider supporting older people to live safely, comfortably, and independently in their own homes. This role is community-based and focuses on dignity, respect, and promoting independence.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, mobility support)
* Assist with meals, hydration, and light household tasks
* Support clients with medication prompts (as per care plan)
* Offer companionship and emotional support
* Observe and report changes in a client's condition
* Maintain accurate daily records and care notes
* Follow infection prevention, safeguarding, and safety procedures
* Work collaboratively with nurses, coordinators, and families
Key Requirements
* QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support / Care Skills (or working towards)
* Previous experience in home care or healthcare setting (preferred)
* Compassionate, patient, and reliable nature
* Good communication skills in English
* Ability to work independently and responsibly
* Understanding of dignity, confidentiality, and safeguarding
* Eligibility to work in Ireland
* Garda Vetting required
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred, depending on location)
* Sector: human health and social work activities
