Optimising Plant Performance
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring budgeted production yields, occupation times, and line speeds are achieved or improved. They will review the efficient use of raw materials, labour, material flow, changeovers, and clean downs.
They will participate in daily/weekly/quarterly production, planning, H&S meetings and implement any relevant actions resulting from these meetings. They will also participate with engineering, maintenance, production, and quality in solving production line problems.
Liaising with suppliers or contractors for small process modifications and proposing capital projects for large-scale modifications is a key aspect of this role. This may involve writing design specifications/concept drawings, participating in start-up and commissioning, following progress, and implementing these projects.
Maintaining and formalising production documentation, including technical specifications and standard operating procedures, is essential. They will also manage and coordinate planned training to ensure a good understanding and operation of the production process and equipment for current and new employees.
* Competence in Lean Manufacturing Principles
* Knowledge of Quality Systems (FMECA, SPC, Metrology, 6M, 5W)
* Qualified to carry out Risk Assessments
* Certificate of 6 Sigma Black Belt or Lean Master is an advantage
* Strong interest in hands-on and on-the-floor involvement with machines and people
* Strong cross-functional project management skills
* Strong mechatronic aptitude and experience of continuous automated production lines
