Description
The Energy Centre Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for the real time management of the Energy Centre operations, leading a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the safe and efficient operation and availability of all plant and apparatus, to meet or exceed defined service levels in accordance with Company specified policies, processes and procedures. The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in production/operations as a manager or technician in the power generation, process or related industry.
Post handover the Energy Centre Maintenance Team Lead will manage a growing shift team dedicated to the production of electricity and operation and first line maintenance consistent with the commercial needs of the business. Being able to demonstrate passion, self-assurance, integrity and trouble shooting skills are core elements of this challenging role.

Core Responsibilities & Deliverables.
* Operation and first line maintenance of all plant and apparatus forming part of the site energy centre under a rigorous change management system to maintain 100% uptime availability.
* Lead, motivate and continually develop a high performing technical team to ensure all individual and team objectives are met.
* Develop, update and maintain all site safety, environmental, maintenance and emergency procedures and ensure compliance of each within the shift team.
* To start-up, shut down, maintain and re-configure prime power plant and associated equipment.
* Define operational requirements for steady state and plant testing as well as re-commissioning within the defined change control procedures.
* Monitor, diagnose and rectify operational problems and demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot complex plant problems.
* Develop detailed technical and/or managerial reports, procedures, and instructions for both internal and external communication.
Management of critical works
* Manage Pure DC safety rules including the identification of precautions required to make plant and apparatus safe as well as prepare, issue and cancel safety documentation as required.
* Manage the safe, reliable and efficient operation and maintenance of all prime power generation systems and associated equipment including the reporting and logging of key events and issues.
* Acting as a First Responder / Initial Incident manager to critical incidents or events and as main point of contact during significant events or technical escalations.
* Manage and perform key tasks in the event of specific site incidents, such as fire, accident, first aid incident, chemical spill, oil spillage, etc.
* Manage day-to-day communication within the Pure DC Energy Centre and to all internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with site procedures, SLA's, and regulatory requirements.
* Assume responsibility in the absence of Senior Management, including the ability to attend and chair Pure DC meetings as required.
* Manage or participate in both Pure DC site and group level initiatives, projects or working groups as required.
* Keep up to date with best practice, standards, training requirements and processes within the industry.
* This is a 24/7 shift role which requires a degree of flexibility around shift coverage.
* Interact with the gas and electricity markets as required. With time this role may include carrying out within day gas trading activities and ensuring the plants electricity dispatch position is aligned with Transmission System Operator instructions, I-SEM energy market and DS3 system services market.
Essential Criteria
* Qualification to degree level in an engineering discipline, or completed a time served apprenticeship with relevant industrial experience the power generation, manufacturing or related industry.
* At least 4-yrs post qualification in the role in a hands on managerial, engineering or similar technical role.
* Experience of HV and LV switching and troubleshooting / repair of electrical systems including DC systems.
* Experience in troubleshooting / repair of mechanical/HVAC systems.
* Experience of high-pressure natural gas systems, bulk fuel storage and delivery systems, emission abatement, emission monitoring equipment and firefighting systems.
* Knowledge and ability to apply safe electrical practices according to guidelines/regulations set by relevant national electrical safety supervisory bodies.
* IT literate, MS Office (Word/Excel etc.) and adaptable to new IT systems.
* Experience of maintaining Pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems and ancillary services, (DHW skids), Chillers, Cooling Towers, Clean steam Boilers, Purified Water Systems, CIP systems, Low / Medium voltage Electrical Systems, UPS, Generators or other associated systems.
* Working knowledge of and experience of working to national safety and environmental standards.
* Ability to lead, manage and develop a technical team.
* Experience of operating in a customer facing role and dealing with and communicating technical problems in challenging situations.
* Experience of electrical power monitoring systems in grid scale facilities, manufacturing sites, data centres or similar environments.
Essential experience
* Experience of performing to a high standard of technical competency across electrical, mechanical, control and process disciplines. Aptitude for trouble-shooting and problem-solving complex issues through Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
* Detailed understanding of Change Management processes and procedures.
* Ability to follow procedures, interpret and understand system documentation and track emergent issues through appropriate entries into a Service Desk Ticketing system.
