Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Director, Laboratory Operations Microbiology at our site in Brinny. The Associate Director will be responsible for managing the Microbiology Laboratory within Ireland (Brinny) and will report to the Director of Laboratory Operations.
What You Will Do
Manage Microbiology Supervisors and the team to optimize performance and delivery within the Microbiology Laboratory.
Develop test and support systems within the Microbiology Laboratory for optimal performance.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of microbiological samples.
Manage investigations, management, and resolution of issues.
Coordinate resources to deliver quality and efficient support services.
Develop Microbiology personnel and plan for succession.
Meet or exceed performance and quality goals for the Microbiology Laboratory.
Control area expenditure within budget.
Contribute to site management initiatives.
Ensure compliance with cGMP and other regulations.
Establish EHS objectives and allocate resources for their achievement.
Participate in risk assessments, inspections, audits, and incident investigations, and implement CAPAs.
Drive recruitment of competent personnel.
Participate in the Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
Promote a culture of Continuous Improvement using the company's Production System tools.

Scientific qualification (preferably Microbiology) with relevant pharmaceutical laboratory management experience.
What Experience You Will Need
Knowledge of pharmaceutical and/or chemical manufacturing operations.
At least 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry with leadership roles.
Experience with Lean methodologies.
Leadership and change management skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
What Qualifications You Will Need
Degree or third-level qualification in Science/Microbiology/Quality; Master’s preferred.
Desirable Project Management qualification (e.g., PMP).
Evidence of Continuous Professional Development is desirable.
