Project Administrator 2 Month Fixed Term Contract: Immediate Start
The Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) seeks to appoint an Administrator (Executive Officer Standard level) to work in its Project Office for a fixed term of 2 months.
The Institute
Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI), founded in 1960, is located in Dublin’s South Docklands area. Its mission is to produce high quality research relevant to Ireland’s economic and social development, contributing to knowledge and informing policymaking.
The Project Office
The Project Office manages and administers funding‑related activities including:
* Providing support and advice to researchers, including assisting with tenders, business cases and budgeting.
* Managing information systems for time recording, cost allocation and resource planning.
* Preparing financial reports on projects and programmes.
It is currently implementing Vidatum, a research management system to streamline administration of research funding.
The Role
The successful candidate will report to the Research Funding and Project Office Manager and play a key role in the data migration process.
Key responsibilities:
* Update and collate administration files on current and upcoming research projects.
* Develop a system and process for collating data.
* Verify data held with other functions.
* Analyse data to ensure there is no duplication.
* Enter administrative data into the new Research Management System.
* Schedule meetings and training sessions as required.
* Assist with other administration duties as required.
* Identify information gaps and develop remedial action plans.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Essential:
* Minimum of two years’ relevant work experience.
* Experience of financial project administration and high competence with spreadsheets.
* Self‑starter able to work independently.
* Meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy.
* Experience in research project administration.
Location
ESRI, Whitaker Square, Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, Dublin 2.
Staff may work remotely from home in Ireland on a blended basis, one day per week at the ESRI office.
Terms & Application Procedure
* Full‑time, 35 hours per week; 09:30‑17:30, Monday‑Friday.
* Initial period of two months (potentially extended to three), subject to satisfactory performance.
* Appointment at the first point of the Executive Officer (Standard) scale, €37,919 per annum pro‑rata.
* Position does not meet critical skills permit criteria.
Closing date: 17:00, Wednesday, 29 October 2025. Interviews via MS Teams on Friday 07 November 2025. Start week commencing 10 November.
