This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced tradesperson to take on a broader, more strategic role while staying actively involved on the tools.Why this role is different:Mentoring and managing a maintenance apprenticePlanning and scheduling all site maintenance activitiesOverseeing preventative maintenance programmes and minimising downtimeManaging external contractors and vendorsHaving full autonomy to implement maintenance strategies and improvement initiativesSupporting both production maintenance and site facilities managementYou'll be the key point of contact for the Operations Manager, leading maintenance operations day to day while staying hands-on with machinery such as CNCs, saws, heat welders, and die presses.What you'll need:MAMF apprenticeship (or older Mechanical Fitter apprenticeship)Strong hands-on mechanical, pneumatics, and troubleshooting experiencePrevious experience in a manufacturing/industrial environmentAbility to lead, mentor and manage a team memberExperience in maintenance planning and working with CMMS systems (Sage-based CMMS an advantage)Excellent communication and organisational skillsFull B driving licenceWhat's on offer:Monday to Friday, days onlyHealth insurance with Laya, including dental plan, EAP, and option to add familyPension scheme (after 6 months)Death in Service benefitInvolvement in project work, new equipment installs, and continuous improvement initiativesAutonomy and authority to shape the maintenance function on site
