Support Specialist for Independent Living
This role involves supporting individuals with all activities of daily living and enabling them to live independent lives in line with HIQA national standards.
The support specialist will empower service users to maintain their independence, transport them to facilitate access to all daily living activities, and participate in household duties such as cooking, laundry, general cleaning, and shopping.
Maintaining professional communication and relationships with the team is essential. The support specialist must also be aware of safe working conditions and implement safe work practices immediately reporting potential hazards, incidents, and concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
* Empower service users to maintain their independence.
* Transport service users to facilitate access to all daily living activities.
* Participate in household duties such as cooking, laundry, general cleaning, and shopping.
* Maintain professional communication and relationships with the team.
* Awareness of safe working conditions and implementation of safe work practices.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Relevant QQI qualification within the healthcare sector (minimum QQI Level 5 major award with 8 modules completed).
* Applicants must be 18+ years old.
* Full clean manual driving license and own transport.
* Excellent command of spoken and written English.
* Knowledge of HIQA standards.
* Work or student experience in social care or relevant sectors.
