Job Overview
The primary function of the Sales Advisor is to deliver sales of Personal Lines, Agri and Commercial Business. The role involves assisting in the overall running of the Sales Office to deliver a superior and efficient customer care service that produces sales results while enhancing the local FBD Brand.
Job Responsibilities
1. Achieve individual sales targets through prospecting, up-selling, and cross-selling of Personal Lines/Commercial/Agri business.
2. Handle customer queries and refer unresolved/technical queries to relevant personnel.
3. Ensure compliance with all systems and procedures laid down by the Company.
4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Company’s product range and compliance requirements, and complete relevant qualifications and CPD hours.
5. Participate in various office tasks, including going to the Mart, and work flexibly within the Sales Office.
6. Provide relief to other Sales Offices in the region as needed.
7. Develop working relationships with local FBD Life and Pension Financial Advisors to enhance service delivery.
8. Participate in account management initiatives for Commercial and Agri business.
9. Follow up on renewals, identify sales opportunities, and suggest cover/rate improvements.
10. Assist customers at the initial notification of claims, following company procedures.
11. Manage individual outstanding debit/premium collections.
Additional Responsibilities
1. Support the Sales Executive/Branch Manager as directed.
2. Handle administration of Personal Lines/Commercial/Agri business as required.
3. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education
* Leaving Certificate or equivalent and/or relevant third-level qualification.
* Qualified to Approved Product Advisor (APA), Approved Product Professional (APP), Certified Insurance Practitioner (CIP), or Grandfathered Accreditation is desirable, with assistance provided to obtain these qualifications within the timeframe set by the Central Bank of Ireland.
Experiences
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Experience in insurance/financial services is advantageous.
* Sales/customer service experience preferred.
* Proactive, energetic, and positive outlook.
* Customer-focused with excellent communication and organizational skills.

* Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships.

* Results-oriented and problem-solving skills.
* Compliance with regulatory standards such as the Minimum Competency Code and Fitness and Probity Standards.
MCC
This role is a controlled function under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity Regime, holding CF3, CF4, designations. Candidates are expected to know and adhere to these standards at all times.
