Head of Finance Operations - Permanent, Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance Operations to oversee and strengthen our finance operations function. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering a hybrid working model, with a minimum of three days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage finance operations including accounts payable, payroll & pensions, accounts receivable, client accounts, banking, taxation, general ledger, and systems administration.
* Ensure accurate and timely financial processing, month-end and year-end close.
* Oversee banking and weekly cash flow forecasting, ensuring adherence to facility limits.
* Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
* Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and key external stakeholders.
* Drive efficiency and automation in financial systems, processes, and reporting tools.
* Lead finance process improvement and transformation initiatives.
* Collaborate with FP&A, Company Secretarial (Audit & Risk), and Procurement teams.
* Mentor and develop a high-performing finance operations team.
* Establish and monitor KPIs for operational performance.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (required).
* Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) required.
* 10-15+ years post-qualification experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
* Proven experience managing Finance Shared Services (advantage).
* Track record of leading finance transformations and systems improvements.
* Strong ERP experience (Sun, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
* Strong leadership, people management, and mentoring skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Deep knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory frameworks.
* ESG reporting experience (desirable).
* Interest in horse racing is an advantage, but not essential.
