The Group brings together three leading brands in Irish social care – Orchard Residential Care, Orchard Community Care and Orchard Fostering.
We are seeking full time & part time Health Care Assistants, vacancies available in the following counties: Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, and Cavan. Working on a shift rota, you will engage in daily activities and routines of the service, providing dedicated direct support to the people we care for as well as contributing to their development, health and wellbeing.
Minimum of 39 guaranteed contracted hours per week, up to 48 hours on average. Rosters include 12 & 24 hour shifts. Minimum Hourly Rate of pay: €14.79
Purpose of role:
The Health Care Assistant is expected to engage in daily activities and routines of the service that they are working in, inclusive of direct support to service users, administration work and daily household tasks required of them.
Duties include but not limited to:
* Ensure delivery of a high standard of care
* Encourage recognition of the child/young person as an individual ensuring that their needs and comforts are given priority
* Ensure that all files are in line and ready for an inspection at any given time.
* To ensure that colleagues assist in all aspects of the child/young persons integrated care plan in a safe and observant manner
* Report requests, queries from children/adults/visitors to the Manager.
Essential Requirements
* Relevant QQI Level 5 or equivalent
* Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar environment supporting children and young people who are unable to live with their own families
* Knowledge of young people/ children with complex needs
* Full manual drivers’ licence is mandatory (eligibility to drive in Ireland)
* Ability to work with us without restriction
