Senior Food Category Manager
A senior-level opportunity to lead high-performing food categories, with full ownership of performance, innovation and growth strategy across Bakery, Food-to-Go and branded partnerships. The role combines hands-on leadership with commercial accountability, focused on driving results through smart execution and a strong customer lens.
Responsibilities:
* Own and grow category performance (sales, margin, traffic, P&L)
* Shape and deliver local category strategy in line with EU direction
* Lead innovation: identify, develop and trial new concepts
* Manage range reviews, pricing, promotions, placement and people
* Build execution plans and support store teams to deliver
* Oversee supplier engagement, procurement input and contracts
* Coach and develop your team to high standards
* Align with internal stakeholders and deliver against commercial plans
What you’ll bring:
* 7+ years in category management or buying (food sector preferred)
* Experience in food service, deli or fresh food operations
* Proven success in concept development and innovation
* Strong leadership and supplier management skills
* Familiarity with insights, NPD, compliance and supply chain
* Commercial acumen and the ability to influence at senior level
Skills & tools:
* Excel, Power BI, POS and space planning tools
* Formal training in category management is a plus
* Degree in business or related field preferred
* You think strategically and act commercially
* You lead with clarity and bring people with you
* You solve problems fast and push for progress
* You’re customer-first and future-focused
