Mechanical Technician role at Veolia Ireland
Overview
The successful candidate will work in a pharmaceutical environment, as part of a team of day technicians. There is no shift work involved with this role.

Hours: 39 hours per week
Day to day responsibilities
* Work as part of the utilities team and plan work activities in line with maintenance and process schedules.
* Assist in commissioning activities, project support and equipment vendor maintenance.
* Collaborate with the Utilities and Engineering Departments to plan and schedule maintenance activities.
* Manage and support service or equipment vendors to ensure applicable standards are adhered to.
* Liaise with discipline leads to coordinate activities for efficient execution of maintenance.
* Ensure all permit to work (PTW) and mechanical isolations are in place to perform maintenance on mechanical utilities.
* Develop cost-saving and energy-reduction initiatives on utilities systems.
* Update GMP maintenance documents and drawings to reflect changes and improve maintenance operations.
* Conduct corrective and preventative maintenance on all operational equipment.
* Proactively solve issues to ensure permanent resolution and drive continuous improvement in the plant.
* Plan and develop maintenance plans where required.
* Operate and maintain utility systems and respond to operations requests related to utilities.
Required skills and qualifications
* Apprenticeship or 3rd Level qualification with mechanical experience.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in mechanical utilities or process maintenance.
* Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biologics industry.
* Strong practical mechanical knowledge and ability to read mechanical drawings and system P&IDs.
* Experience with performing mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance on production systems and equipment (e.g., pumps, autoclaves, inspection machines).
* Ability to support electrical and calibration departments within the production area.
* Follow all relevant SOPs and procedures; record all work in CMMS systems.
* Acuity in GMP practices.
* Organised and controlled documentation management in line with client procedures.
* Ability to attend daily meetings and provide status updates.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, ensuring no risk to health or systems.
