Our Information Systems Audit & Analytics (ISAA) team continues to expand its footprint in the Irish market and is growing the team. This is an exciting opportunity to become involved in a rapidly growing area in professional services. The successful candidate will be part of a strong international and diverse team working in a dynamic and ever-changing technical environment.
The Position
Working closely with the management team, the ISAA Senior Associate will have the opportunity to lead external and internal audit fieldwork related to Information Technology General Controls (ITGCs), Information Technology Automated Controls (ITACs), Information Produced by the Entity (IPEs), and IT dependencies across complex infrastructure environments.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge across infrastructure technologies, databases, operating systems, and identity and access management (IAM) solutions. Experience with both traditional waterfall and modern Agile/DevOps environments is valuable to effectively evaluate change management and system development lifecycle controls.
This is a client-facing role requiring collaboration with audit teams and business stakeholders to ensure technology risk are identified, assessed, and addressed in line with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and Auditing Standards (AS) published by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).
Key Responsibilities
* Execute Information Systems Audits in line with the pre-agreed planning;
* Document the audits in the audit files in line with the underlying auditing standards and Forvis Mazars Audit Manual (MAM);
* Report to the management team the results of such audits;
* Support the management and leadership team in the management of the portfolio, working towards the achievement of departmental goals and targets;
* Working to deadlines and within budgets on each assignment;
* Support the management team in the firm’s relationship with clients including service delivery;
* Involvement in firm / department / practice development and marketing initiatives;
* Involvement in managing and developing junior team members.
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of 4 years of experience in a professional services firm, preferably in IT Audit or similar functions;
* Proven experience in auditing ITGCs, ITACs, Business Processes (BPs), Information Produced by the Entity (IPEs) in the context of external financial statement audits;
* Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes and the role of IT in supporting financial reporting controls;
* Qualification in accountancy, management, economics, computer science or information technology related qualifications;
* CISA certification;
* Solid understanding of risk and internal controls;
* Strong communication skills – both written and verbal, with ability to document audit findings clearly and concisely;
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment;
* Strong organisational and planning capabilities;
* Ability to work on own initiative and to provide guidance to others;
* Experience of working to deadlines and delivering under pressure;
Additional Experiences
The following experiences and qualifications are bonuses:
* Knowledge of SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) and experience in Integrated Audits;
* Experience auditing operating systems (Windows, Unix, Linux), databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL), and enterprise infrastructure environments;
* Experience testing SAP ITGCs and ITACs;
* Experience in evaluating identity and access management (IAM) and privileged access management (PAM) solutions from an audit and control perspective;
* Ability to evaluate SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports to support audit reliance;
* Familiarity with Agile and DevOps environments, with experience auditing associated IT controls and processes – including change management and SDLC practices using tools like Azure DevOps, Git, and JIRA;
* Experience auditing cloud-based solutions (e.g. Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP), including evaluation of configurations and security controls from an audit and assurance perspective;
* Additional certifications such as CISM, CISSP or ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor;
* Familiarity with IT control frameworks such as COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001;
* Experience with Alteryx of other Data Analytics tools.
