Leading the External Relations Function is a key business role that demands strategic partnerships and leadership across multiple sectors.
As a senior executive, you will oversee external relations activities on behalf of customer-facing businesses in GB and Ireland. Your responsibilities include acting as the interface with regulatory bodies and establishing relationships with key stakeholders across media, government, and third sector organisations.
You will lead cross-functional workstreams as directed by the Managing Director, providing strategic sponsorship in areas beyond the core remit. This role involves effective advocacy to ensure that the interests of SSE's customers are protected and enhanced during policy development and implementation.
Protecting and enhancing the reputation of customer-facing businesses through proactive media engagement and crisis management is also a critical aspect of this role.
Excellent communication skills and experience advising at senior executive committee level are essential. A strategic outlook and the ability to communicate complex information effectively to diverse audiences are vital requirements for success in this position.
