Overview Principal Connections - executive search has been exclusively retained by an ambitious and scaling Financial and Business Services firm, renowned for providing agile, end-to-end solutions to SMEs, start-ups, and larger organisations across Ireland.THE POSITIONReporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a pivotal leadership role at a defining stage in the organisation's growth. The successful candidate will provide strategic financial direction across planning, budgeting, reporting, and cash flow optimisation - ensuring the company's financial strength, sustainability, and alignment with its long-term objectives.As a key strategic adviser to the CEO and Board, the CFO will transform financial insight into actionable strategies that drive performance, maintain a balanced debt/equity structure, and support continued expansion. A major focus will be leading the company's mergers and acquisitions (M&A) agenda-from opportunity identification and evaluation, through due diligence and deal execution, to seamless post-acquisition integration. Responsibilities Provide strategic financial direction across planning, budgeting, reporting, and cash flow management to support growth and sustainability.Advise CEO and Board with financial insight to drive performance and strategic decisions.Lead mergers and acquisitions activity, including opportunity identification, due diligence, deal execution, and post acquisition integration.Maintain a balanced debt/equity structure and ensure alignment with long-term objectives. Requirements The ideal candidate will be an accomplished senior finance leader, likely operating at CFO or Finance Director level, with a proven record across all aspects of M&A, including financing, due diligence, and post-deal integration. The CFO will act as a strategic business partner to the CEO and leadership team, contributing to both strategic direction and operational performance. Candidates will demonstrate strong leadership, strategic vision, organisational awareness, and exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
