Overview
Maynooth University Student Services comprises several services whose aim is to provide committed and dedicated on-campus services, designed to support and assist students throughout their time at university. We are seeking to recruit a talented and motivated Student Advisor to join the Student Support team, which sits within the wider Student Services Team. The successful candidate will deliver a comprehensive, holistic, and student-centred advisory service, both on a one-to-one and group basis. This involves assessing students’ needs on academic, personal, and financial issues, and coordinating appropriate and tailored supports to assist students success. Reporting to the Student Support Officer, they will work in close collaboration with multiple multi-disciplinary stakeholders, including, the Student Support team, the wider Student Services team, with colleagues from across the University, as well as with external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and group advisory services to students, assessing needs and coordinating tailored supports to assist student success.
* Collaborate with multi-disciplinary stakeholders across the University and external partners as part of Student Services planning and delivery.
* Deliver a student-centred service with sensitivity, confidentiality, and a proactive, solution-focused approach.
* Work under pressure, manage concurrent tasks with high attention to detail, and maintain accurate and timely outputs.
* Contribute to the strategic and operational planning and delivery within Student Services.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Strong record of providing one-to-one, solution-focused, timely and coordinated support to students in a sensitive and confidential manner.
* Excellent organisational, people, communication, and IT skills.
* Ability to work autonomously, manage concurrent tasks, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
* Empathy with the mission, ethos, and approach of Student Services.
Salary
Administrative Officer II (2025): €46,418 – €65,806 p.a. (9 points)
