IRESI's research focuses on propelling sustainable energy systems into the future by helping individuals, organisations and institutions in the pursuit of a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable energy landscape.
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically driven Postdoctoral Researcher in Energy Savings to play a role in the technical and research delivery of the RENEW project.
This position will focus on the design, implementation, and evaluation of energy-saving interventions and technologies within a 300-home pilot, ensuring that research activities align with project objectives, regulatory frameworks, and pathways for real-world impact and scalability.
The Postdoctoral Researcher will assist with the technical research agenda, contributing expertise in energy systems, data analysis, and performance evaluation.
They will contribute to the integration of hardware and software components from a research perspective, ensuring high-quality data collection, rigorous analysis, and evidence-based assessment of energy savings, user behaviour, and system performance.
Working closely with the Lead Technology Manager and the rest of the technical team, the Postdoctoral Researcher will support cross-disciplinary coordination and translate research findings into actionable insights, publications, and recommendations that inform both policy and future commercial or deployment opportunities.
The role also involves engaging with project stakeholders and contributing to reports, academic outputs, and dissemination activities.
This role is ideal for a researcher with strong technical expertise in energy efficiency or smart energy systems, combined with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and apply research insights to practical, user-centred energy solutions.
