Assistant Pig Farm Manager
Ireland (Multiple Sites) - €45,000 DOE + Accommodation
The Job
A leading pig production business is seeking an Assistant Pig Farm Manager to support the day-to-day operation of a large-scale breeding and production unit (circa 1,300 sows). This role is designed for an experienced pig stockperson or supervisor ready to progress into management, with a clear and structured pathway to Farm Production Manager. You will work closely with senior management, gaining hands‑on exposure across production performance, staff supervision, compliance, and operational decision making.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the full pig production cycle and daily farm routines
* Monitoring herd performance, growth rates, and efficiency
* Maintaining high standards of animal welfare and biosecurity
* Assisting with health checks, treatments, vaccination programmes and vet visits
* Supporting staff supervision, task allocation, rotas and training
* Assisting with audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance
* Maintaining accurate production, breeding, feed and medicine records

The Candidate
* Previous experience within pig production is essential
* Ideally from a senior stockperson or supervisory background
* Ambitious and motivated to progress into farm management
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Committed to animal welfare and best practice
* Flexible to work weekends on a rota basis
* Agricultural or animal related qualifications advantageous, but not essential

* Salary €38,000–€45,000 per annum DOE
