Energy Survey Executive – Public Sector Sustainability Projects

A major semi-state organisation is hiring an Energy Survey Executive to support energy statistics reporting and insights, contributing to key national and EU-level obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
13. Lead data collection processes via direct surveys and public databases
14. Liaise with energy suppliers and public bodies to ensure accurate data provision
15. Conduct data checks, reconciliations, and follow-up on discrepancies
16. Respond to national and international data requests (e.g. EU, IEA, Eurostat)
17. Support publication of energy reports, insights, and statistical updates
18. Represent Ireland at international energy statistics meetings and forums
19. Collaborate internally on strategy development and continuous improvement
20. Handle programme queries and general admin tasks within the department
What You'll Need:
21. Degree (NFQ Level 7+) in Computer Science, IT, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or similar
22. 3+ years' experience in a relevant data, reporting or analytical role
23. Advanced Excel and strong general IT skills (MS Office, SharePoint, etc.)
24. Experience managing large data sets and external stakeholder relationships
25. Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
26. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Skills:
27. Postgraduate qualification in a related field
28. Knowledge of energy data, public administration, or climate policy
29. Experience with SQL, Power BI, Visual Basic, Tableau or similar
30. Understanding of QA/QC frameworks or structured reporting systems
