Permanent Whole Time Post UCC are looking for a strategic and innovative leader for the position of Head of Special Collections as a member of our leadership team.
This senior management role will lead a portfolio in the development, preservation, discovery, and promotion of UCC Library's distinctive collections, including rare books, manuscripts, archives, photographic collections and other unique or historical materials.
This role is pivotal in supporting the University's teaching, learning, and research priorities through stewardship of these resources and by fostering their integration into teaching, learning and research activities.
This role provides an exciting opportunity for the right person to lead this next phase of evolution.
As a member of UCC Library's leadership team, you will develop and implement new strategies and initiatives to respond to the changing landscape of scholarly publishing and information ecosystem in collaboration with internal and external partners.

Have significant knowledge and expertise in the preservation and stewardship of Library's rare, unique and distinct collection.
Provide leadership and strategic direction in delivering service innovation enabling digitization of collections and digital transformation within the portfolio Bring strong interpersonal skills, able to build effective relationships with vendors, academics and other collaborative partners.
An ability to solve problems and juggle competing demands with a track record of meeting your strategic targets and KPIs in previous roles.
About UCC Library The University's Library is at the heart of the University and plays a pivotal role in supporting the learning and research activities of University College Cork community.
UCC Library comprises a distinct unit that resides under the Vice-President for Teaching & Learning.
Library staff work in partnership with the University community to provide access to high quality information resources, tailored programs of student and researcher support, and a first-class learning environment.
The Library has entered an exciting period of transformation with the development of a new library vision and plan that will support the UCC Strategic Plan ********* 'Securing our Future' and the broader University aspirations.

Appointment may be made on the Admin I Salary Scale: €84,422 - €111,211 (Scale B) / €81,518 - €105,648 (Scale A).
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
