DMI is an industry led organisation, supported by the Government of Ireland through IDA Ireland. Launched in 2023, DMI enables Irish-based manufacturers to access, adopt and accelerate new digital technologies solving real-world challenges and driving future competitiveness. DMI offers a state-of-the-art physical and digital factory, a vendor showcase, industry collaboration spaces, and training facilities. The DMI facility brings together technology, expertise, and business support to help manufacturing companies transform, innovate, and future-proof their operations. This role will require 4 days per week onsite.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
The Digital Manufacturing Technician will support DMI’s state-of-the-art production line and its clients. The successful candidate will ensure the production line is maintained and ready for operation, including client visits. They will be responsible for organising maintenance, future-proofing the production line, and supporting the Workforce of the Future area and the Vision Accelerator.
Key Responsibilities:
· Maintain and ensure the readiness of the Manufacturing equipment for client visits and demonstrations.
· Organise and coordinate maintenance activities and system upgrades.
· Support the Workforce of the Future area with hands-on technical assistance.
· Assist in setting up and maintaining the Vision Accelerator Lab.
· Implement continuous improvement strategies for digital manufacturing technologies.
· Adopt and integrate new technologies into existing manufacturing processes.
· Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
· Create procedures and protocols for internal Knowledge sharing.
Key Skills and Competencies:
· Strong technical aptitude and hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment.
· Ability to adapt and understand emerging digital technologies.
· Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills.
· Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
· Leverage and liaise with external vendors/resources to achieve project goals
· Motivated to work on own initiative
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
· Technical diploma or degree in a relevant field such as Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation or qualified electrician.
· Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
· Familiarity with automation technologies and digital manufacturing concepts.
· Experience with maintenance scheduling and production line optimisation.
Desired Skills (Advantageous):
· Familiarity with SCADA, MES, and MOM systems.
· Knowledge of Industry 4.0 concepts and digitalisation strategies.
· Experience with machine vision systems and automation technologies.
· Work with a leading digital manufacturing innovation centre.
