Job Title: Team Leader
In this pivotal role, you will lead and manage a team of employees by communicating company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to the team. Your exceptional leadership skills will motivate team members to achieve their best while providing valuable support to management. This includes hiring and training, as well as keeping management informed about team performance.
* Coordinates with Manufacturing Manager at the start of each shift to establish clear expectations for work to be completed during the shift and reports out at the end of each shift to summarise the status of work completed.
* Effectively manages performance of team members, addressing any ongoing issues through the company's disciplinary/grievance procedures if required.
* Provides performance review input and participates in interviewing new hire candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership Skills:
* Plays a key role in ensuring effective communication among team members and management.
* Monitors team performance and addresses any concerns or issues that arise.
Project Management:
* Plans project activity for the shift and assigns tasks accordingly.
* Oversees mechanical team members during the shift to ensure compliance with safety policies, quality practices, and productivity expectations.
Continuous Improvement:
* Identifies opportunities for Continuous Improvement (CI) and drives change to improve processes and outcomes.
Requirements:
* Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
* At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Able to stand for long periods and perform heavy manual labour.
* Ability to wear personal protective equipment.
