Fohntech Group is seeking an experienced Pressure Testing & Cleaning / Passivation Manager to join their team in Belgium.
Rotation plan is available. Duration of the project is 2 years.
The Pressure Testing and Cleaning / Passivation Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, and assurance of all piping system testing and cleaning activities, including pneumatic testing, flushing, chemical cleaning, and passivation.
The role ensures that all activities carried out by subcontractors are:
Compliant with project specifications and standards
Delivered in line with project schedule and quality requirements
Key Responsibilities of the Role
Develop the overall testing and cleaning strategy aligned with project milestones
Define the Test philosophy (hydro vs pneumatic) Cleaning and passivation procedures
Review project P&IDs / Line lists/System boundaries to establish Test pack structure, cleaning circuits and System turnover sequence
Subcontractor Management
Manage and coordinate specialist subcontractors for Pneumatic pressure testing, Flushing and chemical cleaning, Passivation activities
Review and approve their Method statements, Risk assessments (RAMS), ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans)
Ensure Adequate resourcing, Competency of personnel, Compliance with project standards
Safety Leadership (Critical)
Take ownership of high-risk activities, particularly Pneumatic testing, Pressurisation systems
Ensure detailed risk assessments and method statements are in place, Exclusion zones and safety controls are implemented and Safe systems of work are adhered to.
Interface with HSE team, Client safety representatives
Execution Oversight
Supervise and coordinate Test preparation (isolations, blinds, reinstatements), Pressurisation and testing, Cleaning and flushing operations, Passivation processes
Ensure Proper sequencing of systems Minimal rework Efficient resource utilisation
Quality & Compliance
Ensure all activities meet Project specifications, Applicable codes (e.g. ASME B31.3, EN standards) Client QA requirements
Verify Test results and sign-offs
Manage Punch lists, Test failures and retests
Documentation & Turnover
Oversee compilation of Test packs, Cleaning reports and Passivation recordsEnsure Full traceability Documentation completeness for system handover
Interface with QA/QC teams and Turnover/Commissioning teams
Interface Management
Coordinate closely with Construction teams (installation readiness), QA/QC (inspection and sign-off), Commissioning (system turnover), Engineering (design clarifications)
Planning & Reporting
Develop and maintain Testing schedules, Cleaning and passivation plans
Track Progress vs plan, Subcontractor performance, Key risks and delays
