STEM Recruitment Partners is partnering with a leading medical device company in Dublin seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support their R&D operations. You will work on the development and upgrade of a software-controlled electromechanical medical device.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design projects for new and sustaining product initiatives
Design and develop electro-mechanical assemblies, including single‑use plastic components
Plan and execute testing protocols (characterization, verification, validation) with full reporting
Drive root cause analysis and deliver innovative engineering solutions
Build and evaluate prototypes, ensuring performance meets specifications
Conduct and lead technical reviews across development phases
Ensure compliance with design control, risk management, and regulatory requirements
Work closely with cross‑functional R&D teams, sharing technical knowledge and best practices
Job Requirements
3+ years' engineering experience (regulated environment preferred)
Proven expertise across the full product development lifecycle (concept → validation)
Strong SolidWorks proficiency (essential)
Hands‑on mechanical prototyping (rapid prototyping techniques)
Experience with electro‑mechanical devices; medical device background desirable but other regulated backgrounds may be suitable.
FMEA experience (advantage)
Strong problem‑solving, independent task management, and effective communication skills
Proficiency in MS Office and technical documentation tools
