VROMO, now part of Inspire Brands, is looking for a DevOps Engineer with a passion for observability and platform reliability to join our growing team. In this role, you will own VROMO’s observability ecosystem, leading the design and ongoing improvement of our monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing capabilities.
You will work across our AWS-based infrastructure, supporting highly available services that power restaurant delivery operations around the globe. Our current observability stack includes AWS CloudWatch, the ELK stack, and New Relic, and we are actively evolving how we measure system health, detect anomalies, and respond to incidents. You'll be responsible for ensuring our systems are not only operational but also transparent, measurable, and continuously improving.
While observability is the primary focus of this role, you will also contribute to broader DevOps initiatives involving Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi/Terraform), CI/CD tooling, EKS (Kubernetes), troubleshooting our infrastructure/applications, and cloud infrastructure management. This is a hands-on engineering role with the chance to shape a modern, scalable observability strategy from the ground up.
Responsibilities
* Take the lead on designing and implementing a comprehensive observability strategy (monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting).
* Build and manage tools and services that provide real-time insights into system performance, availability, and security.
* Partner with engineers across product and infrastructure teams to define and deliver meaningful metrics and dashboards.
* Improve incident response processes and on-call tooling to reduce MTTR and enhance reliability.
* Support and evolve cloud infrastructure on AWS using Infrastructure as Code tools (preferably Pulumi or Terraform).
* Ability to use observability data to help troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues quickly and effectively.
* Maintain and optimize Kubernetes clusters (EKS), ensuring high availability and performance.
* Collaborate on CI/CD pipeline enhancements and security practices as part of the broader DevOps function.
Qualifications
* Experience building cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP or Azure is required (Experience with AWS is an advantage)
* Solid hands-on experience with observability tools ( Particularly AWS CloudWatch, New Relic, and the ELK stack are an advantage)
* Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting best practices
* Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code ( Pulumi is a bonus)
* Experience deploying and managing containerized workloads in Kubernetes (Amazon EKS is an advantage)
* Ability to collaborate with engineering teams to define SLIs/SLOs and implement effective dashboards and alerts.
* Experience keeping systems secure and guarding against security threats
* Background in software engineering or scripting is a nice to have
* You are comfortable facing new challenges and love the opportunity to learn a new skill
Travel Required :
In this role, there will be a requirement to be in the Waterford office 1 or more days a week. During the first 3 months, there will be a requirement to be in the office at least 2 days a week.
Once a quarter there may be a requirement to travel within Ireland to meet other team members
