Job Description:
The Acacium Group is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist on behalf of a leading private healthcare provider. The organisation specialises in residential and supported living services for children and adults with complex needs, including mental health, intellectual disability, and forensic backgrounds.
As a key member of the multidisciplinary team at an Approved Centre in Cork, you will take a lead clinical role in delivering high-quality, person-centred psychiatric care. Your responsibilities will include:
* Clinical responsibility for patients within the Approved Centre
* Leadership and oversight of multidisciplinary care teams
* Contribution to clinical governance and strategic development of services
* Ensuring compliance with national standards, legal regulations, and internal policies
* Driving service improvements through audits and action plans
* Conducting staff reviews and supporting professional development
We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Full registration with the Irish Medical Council
* Postgraduate qualification in medical education, clinical research, or healthcare management (desirable)
* Strong knowledge of mental health legislation, HIQA standards, and best practice guidelines
* Senior clinical leadership experience within a healthcare organisation
* Experience working in diverse psychiatric settings (ID and forensic preferred)
* Proven ability to produce high-quality reports and documentation at senior level
