Overview
A fantastic and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Process Scientist, in the field of cell culture technology as part of Manufacturing Science and Technology Laboratory Team. The role will deliver a diverse range of technical expertise and support to the business.
Bring energy, knowledge, innovation to carry out the following:
* Leading, designing, promoting and executing experimental design, data analysis and interpretation to resolve complex cell culture deviations using small scale models.
* Process improvement and troubleshooting with end-to-end product focus.
* Supporting the industry 4.0 initiative to navigate operations in a digital environment.
* Provide technical support investigations, new process introduction or change implementation in commercial manufacturing operations.
* Supporting global regulatory submissions as needed.
Responsibilities
As described in the overview, the role involves leading and executing experimental work, data analysis and interpretation to address cell culture deviations, contributing to process improvements, supporting digital (industry 4.0) initiatives, providing technical investigations and change implementation in manufacturing operations, and supporting regulatory submissions as needed.
Qualifications
* A degree (or higher) in Biological Sciences/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Biological Engineering.
* Experience in the Biopharmaceutical industry (preferably practical experience of cell culture processing).
* Experience in drug substance process development, process characterisation studies, mammalian cell technology, biochemistry, cell biology, fluid mechanics and process modeling.
* Experience in designing and executing experimental programs in the laboratory.
* Working knowledge of statistical methods for DOE design and data analysis (e.g., JMP or Design Expert software).
* Technical experience in the drug substance manufacture of biological molecules at the pilot- and/or commercial-scale. Experience with technology transfer, regulatory filing, and commercial drug substance manufacturing of biologics is a plus.
* Knowledge of and experience in applying Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
