Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesSummary:The IT Technician is responsible for maintaining and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure.
This includes installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software, managing network systems, and providing technical support to all staff members.Key Responsibilities:Technical Support:Provide technical assistance to staff for hardware, software, and network issues.Respond to support tickets, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions in a timely manner.Conduct regular maintenance and updates for computers, servers, and other IT equipment.Hardware and Software Management:Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.Maintain an inventory of all hardware and software.Ensure software licenses are up-to-date and comply with legal standards.Network Management:Set up and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, and wireless access points.Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.Implement and manage network security measures.System Administration:Manage user accounts and permissions.Backup and restore data as needed.Ensure the security and integrity of data.Training and Documentation:Create and update technical documentation for systems and processes (SOP's).Provide training and support materials for staff.Conduct IT training sessions for new employees.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with other IT team members and departments to support overall IT operations.Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand and address their IT needs.Participate in IT projects and initiatives as assigned.Provide advice to the ICT Manager as requested on new and emerging technologies.Support ICT Manager in the identification of ICT equipment or software development needs, prepare specifications, source supply options and support procurement process.Liaise with service providers to design and develop new technological solutions. Qualifications:Education:A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but relevant experience in a similar position will also be considered.Relevant certifications (e.g.
CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are a plus.Experience:Proven experience as an IT Technician or in a similar role.O365 experience desirable.Experience with various operating systems (Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022).AWS experience an advantage.Experience with virtual environments an advantage.Familiarity with networking protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).Skills:Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and customer service abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good organizational and time management skills.Ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.Energetic and positive outlook.Understanding of the organisation values and mission.
