The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for managing the Electrical Day Team, supporting management of Shift Teams, and acting as the point of escalation for onsite CBRE team on Electrical issues. The role includes overall responsibility for electrical engineering aspects, staff development, and electrical processes & procedures within the Data Centre. The Electrical Supervisor reports to the Technical Manager and collaborates closely with all onsite team disciplines.
Responsibilities
1. Supervise the operation, maintenance, and repair of all critical environment systems to ensure 100% uptime of critical power systems.
2. Develop and maintain good relationships with CBRE staff and client representatives; serve as the main contact for electrical requirements.
3. Review and update site electrical procedures including EOPs, SOPs, MOPs, drills, and APs, ensuring documentation aligns with client standards.
4. Review vendor documentation (method statements & risk assessments) before work begins; oversee vendor service reports and ensure follow-up on outstanding items.
5. Perform QA on vendor work related to electrical systems and conduct root cause analyses for equipment failures.
6. Monitor critical spares inventory for electrical and data center systems.
7. Support escalation procedures, conduct RCA for technical issues, and ensure accurate emergency classifications and notifications.
8. Drive energy efficiency initiatives and record energy-saving projects on the master register.
9. Assist in reviewing subcontractor maintenance contracts, attend review meetings, and contribute to vendor scorecards.
10. Provide electrical training to the team, develop examination questions, and assess staff competencies.
11. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, promote CBRE’s professional image, and maintain a safe working environment.
12. Assist in technical staff management, recruitment, development, and appraisal processes.
13. Review drills, ensure quality, and follow up on actions.
14. Qualifications, Experience, and Character:
15. Extensive knowledge of electrical systems in data centers (feeders, transformers, switchgear, UPS, batteries, ATS/STS, PDU/PMM).
16. Experience with automatic control equipment, PLCs, BMS, and integration with data center infrastructure.
17. Experience with medium voltage systems, switchgear, protection equipment, and safety protocols.
18. Strong communication, team leadership, and client interaction skills.
19. Willingness to work outside normal hours as needed.
20. Proficient in reporting, monitoring, and trending operational data.
21. Person Specification:
22. Electrical trade qualification and preferably a degree.
23. Understanding of data center environment restrictions and continuous personal development with at least two years’ experience in critical environments.
