SCADA / Automation Engineer – BESS / SCADA (6-Month Contract)
Edison Smart is hiring on behalf of our client for an Automation Engineer to deliver automation and control solutions for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and SCADA platforms. This is a 6-month contract supporting renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities:
* Design, program, and optimize PLC and SCADA systems for BESS projects.
* Develop HMI interfaces, control strategies, and communication protocols.
* Test, commission, and troubleshoot automation systems on-site or remotely.
* Maintain documentation including control logic diagrams, network configs, and user manuals.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration into renewable energy projects.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
* Experience with PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text) and SCADA (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, AVEVA).
* Knowledge of industrial communication protocols: Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC-UA.
* Experience in BESS or renewable energy projects.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team.
Desirable:
* Familiarity with cybersecurity for control systems or predictive maintenance.
* Experience with multiple PLC/SCADA platforms.
