Bilingual Support Specialist Role
The primary objective of this position is to facilitate the delivery of bilingual services within a public organization. This involves implementing a comprehensive language strategy, providing support to senior management on language-related matters, promoting language usage throughout the organization, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with senior management in relation to language strategy implementation and policy development.
* Provide expert information to staff members regarding their obligations under relevant legislation.
* Offer technical assistance and guidance to colleagues as needed.
* Maintain and enhance existing language services by coordinating resources and information through the organization's portal.
* Address minor complaints or inquiries from the public and/or designated authorities.
* Assist in investigating complaints and work towards finding satisfactory resolutions.
* Foster a positive attitude among staff members towards language use.
* Organize regular events to promote language awareness and drive activity on related issues.
* Promote the organization's bilingual services to the public.
* Develop written and audio materials to support staff language proficiency.
* Work collaboratively to implement the organization's language strategy according to established guidelines.
* Cultivate awareness of language equality within the organization.
* Prepare concise reports for presentation to senior management or other designated representatives as required.
* Propose solutions to challenges encountered in the role.
* Take responsibility for assigned tasks and be a reliable resource for additional duties that contribute to office operations.
