Your impact
You will join a dynamic team of engineers and technicians, working on a diverse range of projects. As a member of the design team, you will assist in preparing feasibility studies, scheme reports, and preliminary and detailed designs for highways and active travel projects across the UK and Ireland. You may also be required to attend progress meetings and public exhibitions.

The Ireland Transportation sector boasts a portfolio of high-profile projects with esteemed clients such as Transport Infrastructure Ireland, National Transport Authority, Irish Rail, national and regional contractors, and several significant Local Authorities. Some of our recent nationally and regionally significant projects include
* Dunkettle Interchange, Foynes to Limerick Road (including Adare Bypass)
* M28 Cork to Ringaskiddy
* Dublin BusConnects - Core Bus Corridor Infrastructure Works and Cork BusConnects
* N2 Ardee to Castleblayney
* Dublin City Council Active Travel Team
* N21 Newcastle West and N21 Abbeyfeale
* N59 Maam Cross and N69 Listowel Bypass
* Dublin MetroLink and Cork Light Rail Transit
We currently have opportunities within our Civil Engineering teams in Dublin & Cork where you can make your mark and contribute to the continued growth of Jacobs as part of the design team.

Here's what you'll need
* A degree in Civil Engineering,
* Should be nearing Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent
* A solid understanding of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) Publications and / or UK Design Manual for Roads and Bridge (DMRB)
* Experience in designing Major Highway, Local Road, or Active Travel schemes.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage a challenging workload that may change at short notice.
* Experience with 3D Civils is advantageous.
* Basic knowledge of project management, contractual issues, and construction supervision.
* An understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
* Awareness of different contract types and procurement options.
