Role: Design Coordinator

Location Base: Head Office, Loughrea, Co.Galway

Salary: Competitive

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The main duties and responsibilities of Design Coordinator are outlined as follows:

Design Coordination:

Lead administrative oversight of cross-disciplinary design coordination by facilitating regular design meetings, assigning tasks, and tracking progress to ensure timely delivery of design outputs.

Client Workshop Engagement:

Attend with the project team in client workshop meetings. Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, assign action items to relevant personnel, and follow up to ensure closure.

Workshop Input & BIM Integration:

Support the submission of workshop inputs by coordinating deliverables between the BIM team and design teams. Manage issue allocation and resolution within the BIM environment.

Land & Wayleave Documentation Review:

Coordinate with the Site Team and UE Land & Wayleave team to review and resolve markups and comments on land and wayleave documentation, ensuring compliance with UE requirements and readiness for final approval.

Planning Coordination:

Act as the interface between Planning Consultants and UE Planners. Organize pre-planning meetings, document outcomes, and coordinate comments and markups to ensure planning drawings meet county council requirements for timely submission.

Hazop/ALM Facilitation:

Schedule and attend Hazop and ALM sessions for projects. Record meeting minutes, allocate actions, and ensure follow-through and closure of all raised items.

Detailed Design to IFC Transition:

Collaborate with design teams post-detailed design phase to progress drawings to Issued for Construction (IFC) stage.

Civil & Structural Design Oversight:

Coordinate civil and structural design activities across design teams, site delivery teams, and UE stakeholders to ensure alignment and constructability.

As-Built Documentation Management:

Oversee the development of As-Built drawings by site delivery teams and UE. Allocate and resolve issues to ensure accurate and complete documentation.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

The main knowledge, skills and experience required of the Design Coordinator are outlined as follows:

* Ideally third level qualification in an engineering/construction related course
* Experience in construction administration beneficial
* Ideally experienced in use of BIM platforms or similar
* Good experience working as part of a team, taking responsibility and using initiative to follow up and close out tasks.
