Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Director of Portfolio Management to lead and scale our Data Science and AI portfolio. This role blends product and program management disciplines to drive communication and execution across a diverse set of data science assets, AI products, and innovation initiatives.
The objective is to lower the cost of healthcare for our members. You will work cross-functionally to ensure our portfolio delivers measurable impact, aligns with strategic priorities, and evolves with the needs of the business.
A key part of this role is communicating clearly and credibly with senior stakeholders, translating complex technical progress into business-relevant insights and enabling informed decision-making at the leadership level.
Main Responsibilities:
* Own the end-to-end lifecycle of the Data Science and AI portfolio, from ideation through delivery and retirement.
* Partner with data science, engineering, product, and business teams to define and prioritize initiatives.
* Develop and maintain strategic roadmaps that align with business goals and technical capabilities.
* Lead governance processes including intake, prioritization, resource planning, and performance tracking.
* Monitor execution progress, proactively manage risks, and drive resolution of issues.
* Communicate portfolio status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership with clarity, precision, and strategic framing.
* Support business case development and ROI analysis for new initiatives.
* Champion agile ways of working and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* An advanced degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated experience in product, program, or portfolio management, ideally in data-driven domains.
* Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
* A strong understanding of data science and AI workflows, technologies, and lifecycle.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior executives and translate technical work into business impact.
* Experience with agile methodologies and tools.
