Role Title: Clinical Nurse Manager III: Patient Safety and Risk Manager

Purpose of the Role: The purpose of this role is to work within the Quality and Safety Improvement Directorate to advance safety and clinical risk management across the hospital.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work with the Patient Safety and Risk Lead Manager and the Director of Quality and Safety Improvement to implement safety initiatives.
2. Deliver excellence in patient safety and clinical risk management, including annual assessments and benchmarking against best practices.
3. Develop and lead workstreams to mitigate risks and improve patient safety.
4. Lead incident reviews, compile reports, and support the implementation of recommendations.
5. Enhance learning from risk reporting activities and optimize risk reporting systems.
6. Identify training gaps and provide training to frontline teams to promote safer patient care.
7. Manage the hospital's risk reporting system and support the risk register.
8. Deliver educational interventions on safety risk management processes.
9. Collaborate with clinical directorates to implement national safety standards and act as an agent for change.
10. Support relevant committees and project groups, and report progress to senior management.
11. Ensure proper documentation and stay updated with national guidelines and best practices.
12. Foster strong working relationships across the organization and liaise with external bodies as needed.
13. Participate in other duties as assigned, maintaining professionalism and adherence to standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Registered General Nurse with NMBI or eligible for registration.
* At least 7 years post-registration experience in an acute hospital or relevant clinical area within the last 9 years.
* Minimum of 2 years management experience at CNM II level in the past 4 years.
* Completed or committed to completing post-registration education in quality, safety, or patient care.
* Higher Degree or MSc in a relevant discipline or willing to undertake within an agreed timeframe.
* Experience in quality and safety management, IT skills, project/change management, and staff development.
Desired Skills: Relevant qualifications in quality, safety, or risk management, knowledge of healthcare systems, report writing, confidentiality, open disclosure, data protection, database management, and reporting.
