Senior Medical Scientist in the HPV lab - The Coombe Hospital, Dublin
Senior Medical Scientist required by Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with the HSE, for new opportunities in the National Cervical Screening Lab, based at the Coombe Hospital.
Immediate start ; 35hours / week
Flexible start finish time (earliest 7.30am latest 9am start)
Monday – Friday
The ideal candidate would need to have molecular experience or background in Cervical screening.
Job Responsibilities:
-Perform to the highest professional standards as determined by the NCSL management team and participate in developing and implementing a service that supports the clinical needs of patients and is consistent with the mission, values of the hospital
-Observe the strictest confidence when dealing with all aspects of patient or hospital information
-Delegate as is consistent in providing a high-quality service
-In co-operation with Consultant Head of Department, Department Chief Medical Scientist, Lab Manager and other designated senior staff, participate in the introduction of new ideas and methods according to hospital policy
-Participate as required in the registration, custody and stock level of the
-Laboratory reagents and other materials held in the Directorate
-Ensure that policy relating to the Laboratory record-keeping is followed
-Perform all activities related to the receipt, analysis and reporting of laboratory specimens
-Ensure all equipment is operating correctly and all malfunctions are investigated, reported and repaired accordingly
-Co-operate fully with all infection control procedures

• A recognised qualification a Senior Medical Scientist
• Permission to work in Ireland
