Financial Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead on all accounts receivable functions including processing, resolving invoice issues, production of aged debtors' reports, credit control monitoring of credit terms and collections and all relevant reports for both entities.
2. Provide training and assistance to Finance Assistants in resolving queries.
3. Maintain Fixed Asset Register.
4. Review and monitor stock control system.
5. Review and monitor all bank accounts and reconciliations.
6. Review and monitor cash related tasks and activities and follow up as necessary.
7. Prepare the monthly management accounts as directed by the Financial Controller and the Finance Director.
8. Assist with internal audit as required for two entities as directed by Financial Controller and Finance Director.
9. Act as assistant Master Data Controller as support to the Financial Controller in this role.
10. Participate in the operational tasks of the finance team in an efficient, effective and timely manner, as directed by the Financial Controller and the Finance Director.
11. Manage the processing of payroll and associated reporting.
12. Work closely with other functional departments including HR, Cemeteries, Visitor Centre, Monument Works, Administration and Marketing.
13. Deal with ad-hoc queries from staff, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders.
14. Assist the Financial Controller and Finance Director in the production of Ad Hoc reports as requested and completion of statutory returns as required.
15. Follow all financial policies and procedures.
16. Carry out all duties with due regard for all our Policies and Procedures.
17. Carry out any other duties commensurate with the post and the needs of the organisation.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
2. Professional qualification - newly qualified or part-qualified (essential).
3. At least three years' experience working in a similar role.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, financial compliance, and reporting.
5. Strong organisational, administrative and time management skills.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. High attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
8. Ability to use own initiative.
9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
10. Competent in the use of Microsoft packages (especially Excel).
11. Proficiency in SAP, preferably SAP Business One.
12. Knowledge of payroll software is an advantage.
